HISTORY OF YRC:

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) unit of Junabhadra College, Bitana, was established with the aim of instilling humanitarian values, service-mindedness, and social responsibility among students. Inspired by the universal principles of the Red Cross movement, the YRC promotes health awareness, emergency preparedness, and voluntary service among youth. Over the years, it has become an integral part of the college’s community engagement efforts.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To create awareness on health and hygiene among students and in the community.
  • To instill the spirit of voluntary service and compassion.
  • To train students in disaster response, first aid, and social service.
  • To develop leadership qualities and a sense of civic responsibility.

Regular Activities of YRC

  • Blood Donation Camps in collaboration with local health authorities.
  • NSS and YRC Camps promoting rural development and awareness.
  • Health Awareness Programs (HIV/AIDS, first aid, nutrition).
  • Tree Plantation Drives and environmental conservation activities
  • Observation of Red Cross Day and other humanitarian events.

The NSS unit of Junabhadra College aims to build a strong bond between the institution and the community through service-oriented programs. It fosters the spirit of volunteerism, national integration, and holistic student development.

Objectives:

  • To participate in innovative and beneficial social activity
  • Fostering the desire to help the less fortunate members of society.
  • To bridge the gap between educated and uneducated people.
  • Recognise the communities in which they work.

Activities:

  • Participation in International Women’s Day celebrations.
  • Organizing Swachhata Pakhwada in Tanki Tola Basti and other localities.
  • Campaigns under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative.
  • Tobacco-Free Campus awareness drives.
  • Regular participation in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
  • Annual Special NSS Camps in nearby rural villages.

The Grievance Redressal Committee serves as a forum for students and staff to voice their concerns in a constructive manner. It ensures transparency, fairness, and timely resolution of issues related to academics, administration, and campus life.

Scope:

  • Address student grievances related to classes, examinations, and facilities.
  • Foster a respectful and responsive institutional environment.
  • Promote a culture of trust and accountability.

Objectives:

The purpose of Grievance Redressal Committee is to ensure a speedy response and accountability of all concermed to the students of the college. The committee aims,

  • To provide an environment in which grievances can be addressed without fear of being victimised.
  • To maintain an organised, well-defined, and transparent grievance redressal process.
  • To encourage friendly relationships between students, students and teachers, and students and non-teaching personnel.
  • To guarantee that complaints are swiftly, impartially, sensitively, and in strict confidence addressed.

The college has a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. The Anti-Ragging Cell is actively involved in ensuring a safe and respectful campus environment.

  1. Any act of Indiscipline, Teasing or Handling with Rudeness.
  2. Any act that Prevents, Disrupts the Regular Academic Activity.
  3. Any activity which is likely to cause Annoyance, hardship, Psychological Harm or creates Fear or Apprehension.
  4. Any Act of Financial Extortion or Forceful Expenditure.
  5. Any Act of Physical Abuse causing Assault, Harm or danger to Health.
  6. Any Act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS or public insult etc.
  7. Any Act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to the human dignity.
  8. Any Act of Wrongful Confinement, Kidnapping, molesting or committing unnatural offences, use of criminal forces, trespass or intimidation.
  9. Any unlawful assembly or conspiracy to ragging.

Punishment to those found guilty

Any student or group of students found guilty of ragging in the campus or even outside the campus shall be liable to one or more of the following punishments

  1. Debarring from appearing in any seasonal test / University Examination
  2. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges
  3. Withdrawing scholarships and other benefits
  4. Suspension from the college for a period of one month

Objectives of Anti Ragging Committee

Anti-Ragging Committee will be the Supervisory and Advisory Committee in preserving a Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the college Campus. The Anti-Ragging Squad- office bearers will work under the Supervision of Anti Ragging Committee and to engage in the works of checking places like Hostels,  Canteens, Classrooms and other places of student congregation. Anti-Ragging Committee will be involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the Menace of Ragging in the college by adopting array of activities.

Responsibilities of Anti Ragging Squad

Anti-Ragging Squad will be working under the Monitoring of Anti Ragging Committee and will seek advice from the Anti-Ragging Committee. The functions of Anti-Ragging Squad will be to keep a vigil and stop the incidences of Ragging, if any, happening / reported in the places of Student aggregation including, Classrooms, Canteens, Grounds, Hostels etc. The Squad will also educate the students at large by adopting various means about the menace of Ragging and related Punishments there to. A gamut of positive reinforcement activities are adopted by Anti-Ragging Squad for orienting students and moulding their personality for a better cause. They shall work in Consonance and Guidance of Anti Ragging Committee.

Under the Mo College Abhijan, Junabhadra College promotes alumni involvement and community participation in the development of the institution. The initiative aims at transforming the college into a hub of innovation, learning, and social contribution.

The Discipline Committee ensures the maintenance of decorum, ethics, and order within the campus. It plays a proactive role in guiding students towards responsible behavior.

Objectives:

  1. To uphold the code of conduct and institutional values.
  2. To handle disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  3. To encourage positive behavioral patterns and self-discipline.
